Charbonneau Country Club - Home Owners Association
Emergency Preparedness & Public Safety
The American Red Cross reminds us: “Disaster can strike at any time! Whether a house fire or a 9.0 earthquake, a single disaster can change your physical, emotional and financial health in a matter of seconds.” Disaster preparedness starts with YOU! The Homeowners Associations of Charbonneau Country Club have a plan in place to help residents care for ourselves in the event of a major disaster such as an earthquake, ice storm, fire, or extended power outage, especially when that event will overwhelm emergency responders. Our team of HOA Captains and Medically Trained Residents numbers more than 135 residents. It is the goal of this team to educate homeowners how vital it is to have a community-based plan in place. It is also important to recognize that the job of this Team is NOT to take the place of emergency responders but to acknowledge that in a disaster, your most immediate sources of help are the neighbors living around you. Every home should have a RED Emergency Preparedness Plan folder with basic information about the plan and what first steps to take both in your own home and in your neighborhood (this information is also posted here on the upper right under "Important Documents"). If your home does not have a red Emergency Preparedness folder the best way to receive one is to check the list of HOA Contact Persons and ask for one. Most of the 13 HOA’s have customized the folders for their area, including maps. Pics in this slide show > 1. Included here is a roster of the Emergency Preparedness/Public Safety (EPPS) committee members who oversee both Charbonneau’s emergency plans and public safety issues. EPPS works with law enforcement and our security contractor, First Response, on issues of personal and home security within the community as well as things like walking safety and traffic issues. Please feel free to contact your HOA Captain or any one of us if you have questions.
We hope you will be part of this important safety plan. REMEMBER: In a disaster, your most immediate source of help are the neighbors living around you. Disaster preparedness starts with you!
